Cleaning systems for the industry: How to find the right system for your needs!
The demands on industrial cleaning systems for component cleaning are constantly increasing. Manufacturing companies, as well as more and more workshop and reconditioning companies, are facing the exciting challenge of finding an optimal cleaning process that continuously achieves the desired cleanliness requirements. The demands on cleaning technology are getting higher and higher! We will show you how to find your ideal cleaning system and what you should consider.
Our cleaning system is the perfect solution for industrial applications.
The selection of a suitable machine always depends on the prevailing process.
Simply put – the process determines the machine.
The following points should be considered when selecting a suitable industrial cleaning system:
- What parts are being cleaned – new parts / repaired parts?
- Are individual parts, assembled parts, or bulk goods being cleaned?
- What material are the components made of, and what is the predominant contamination?
- What are the dimensions of the largest and smallest part, and what is their weight?
- What process occurs before and after cleaning / what throughput must be achieved?
- Are there cleaning and cleanliness requirements – residual contamination / surface tension, etc.?
Glogar supports you in selecting the optimal cleaning system for your industrial parts cleaning process. Once the metal cleaning system in question has been determined, the next step follows: performing washing tests with the original contaminated components.
For this purpose, Glogar offers a unique selection of cleaning systems with a wide variety of processes and cleaning technologies in its Technology Center in St. Florian, in order to test the right system in the desired configuration live or in an online washing test .
Overview of possible metal cleaning systems / processes for the industry
Spray cleaning systems
The simple handling, fast cleaning, and high flexibility make these simple but highly efficient machines indispensable for many processes.

Ultrasonic cleaning systems
For more complex geometries or the heaviest contamination, cleaning systems with ultrasound are the optimal solution. Ultrasonic cleaning systems are the right choice for fine cleaning, but also for tool and mold cleaning.

- Ultrasonic devices
- Single-chamber ultrasonic machines
- Multi-chamber ultrasonic machines
- Ultrasonic components
Spray flood cleaning systems
Chamber cleaning systems are used for complex requirements or high throughputs. All cleaning techniques such as spraying, flooding or ultrasound are carried out and combined in one chamber.

- Aqueous cleaning machines
- Solvent cleaning machines
- Hybrid cleaning machines
High-pressure cleaning systems
For very stubborn contamination, especially on parts undergoing servicing and repair, cleaning systems using high-pressure methods are often employed. These systems allow manual cleaning and drying of parts within a very short time in a single operation.

Choosing the right cleaning agent for your industrial parts cleaning
There is a wide selection of cleaning chemicals for industrial cleaning systems. The right product for your application depends on several factors such as material, contamination, subsequent process etc. In addition, the processes or the system in which the medium is used must be considered in detail. Glogar offers several hundred different cleaner formulations based on aqueous and solvent-based solutions. The expert process engineers will work with you to design not only the optimal metal cleaning system for your process, but also the appropriate cleaner is offered by Glogar in the overall concept. If the wrong product is used here, the best cleaning system will not achieve the desired result.
In general, aqueous cleaning media achieve the best results with non-polar contaminants, in practice this refers to soiling such as emulsions, but also particles (chips, abrasion, dust, etc.). Non-polar contaminants such as oils and greases are best removed with solvent-based cleaners.
Bath treatment equipment
In order to use the baths of the cleaning systems for as long as possible, there are a wide variety of bath treatment equipment.
Oils and greases are separated from the baths and discharged from the system using coalescer separators and oil skimmers. Particulate contaminants such as chips or abrasion can be filtered out of the medium with filter units.
In solvent parts cleaning machines or systems operated with modified alcohol, the medium can be continuously distilled and thus reused almost purely, and contaminants are almost completely separated. An evaporator can also be used in some aqueous cleaning systems.
The right water quality for my cleaning system
Another important criterion in industrial parts cleaning is water quality. Almost all Glogar cleaning media are hardness-stabilized, meaning that very good results can be achieved even with calcareous water without limescale stains or precipitates. The higher the demands on the surface, the “cleaner” the water used must be.
For the cleaning of repair and overhaul parts, normal tap water is also suitable even with a higher lime content, as completely residue-free parts are not required here. In the case of new parts production, the situation is different, as softened water is used here depending on the process.
The final cleaning is usually carried out purely with deionized water or osmosis water. However, there are also stumbling blocks here; if corrosive metals such as steel or cast iron are cleaned in the industrial cleaning system, the surface will rust within a very short time without the use of corrosion protection when using deionized water or osmosis water. Therefore, softened water or even direct city water is often used here.
